Description
A Tibetan Thankga of Mahakala with frame. Mahakala in four-arm four-face manifestation, surrounded by flames, having a flayed elephant skin on his back. Holding a Kartrika and Kapala with the primary arms. Over dark ground, surrounded bywrathful protectors. Thangka: 39" x 26". Frame: 44" x 30 1/4". Provenance: From the collection of Richard Smith. Purchased from Harmer Rooke, New York, in 1990. With original receipt.
