Description
Ancient Central Asia, ca. 1200 to 600 BCE. A beautiful short sword cast via the lost wax (cire perdue) method with a slender profile. The thin, triangular blade has a pointed tip, a pronounced midrib, and sharpened edges. A narrow rectangular guard separates the blade from a thin cylindrical handle with a hemispherical pommel. Covered in lustrous layers of green and russet patina, this is a fabulous example from ancient Central Asia! Size: 17.8" L x 1.5" W (45.2 cm x 3.8 cm).

Condition
Surface wear and minor abrasions commensurate with age, slight bending to overall form of blade, with small nicks to blade edges, otherwise intact and very good. Nice earthen deposits as well as great green and russet patina throughout. Old inventory number written in black ink on handle.
