Description
Attributed to Louis Schaettle (American, 1868-1917) Babylon Lived Delictiously. Oil on canvas laid to board, unsigned 32" x 65.5" Frame: 39.5" x 72.5"
Condition
The canvas is laid down on board. The paint is very thin in many areas. There are retouches on the group at far left, on the canopy, the dancer in red, and on the pipers at right. There is a repaired tear near the lower part of the column at left, and a repaired tear on the canopy. There are other retouches among the figures.
