Description
**First Time At Auction**

Roman, Republican period, ca. late first millennium BCE. A pretty vessel with a bulbous, deep body and a diminutive round foot. The vessel is painted a deep red, and has incised linear motifs ringing its rim and down its body. Twin small handles rest against the shoulder. The rim rolls out broadly. This type of vessel was likely used as everyday tableware in a Roman household. Size: 6.6" W x 5.05" H (16.8 cm x 12.8 cm)

Condition
Both handles have been reattached and have some losses. Otherwise in very nice condition, with some chips and nicks to pigment and edges commensurate with age. Small root marks visible, especially on the interior.
