Description
Egypt, Pre-Dynastic Period, Nagada/Naqada, ca. 3600 to 3200 BCE. An incredible example of early Egyptian pottery, a redware vessel in an acorn form with a body of considerable girth, a diminutive neck, rolled rim, and wide mouth - fired to create rich, saturated red hues. Among the most desirable of all ancient potteries. We have only seen a few strong examples of this form, and this one is in excellent condition. Size: 5.75" W x 5.875" H (14.6 cm x 14.9 cm)
