Description
A pair of Egyptian cosmetic mixing palettes, Old Kingdom, c. 2613 - 2181 BC, one in carved alabaster with a shallow bowl, rounded bottom and rim, Dia: 2 in (5.1 cm), the second in terracotta with disk base and shallow bowl, Dia: 1 1/2 in (3.8 cm). Both nice examples and mounted on an antique rectangular wood base with a beautiful paper label. Ex Stanley Lowell collection; Ex collection of Walter J. Dilling.
