Description
AMERICAN SHIP'S CLOCKS, LOT OF TWO, comprising a Seth Thomas Ship's Bell example, most likely a "Merrimac" model, circular brass case with hinged glass door front, exterior bell chime, metal dial with seconds hand, marked "SETH THOMAS / MADE IN U.S.A.", chime/strike adjustment lever hidden by door bezel; and a Chelsea Clock Co. example with circular black thermoplastic case embossed "CHELSEA CLOCK CO. / BOSTON", enameled metal dial lettered "U.S. GOVERNMENT" and for Chelsea Clock Co., with 24-hour double chapter ring, hinged glass door front with threaded closure. Circa 1930. Seth Thomas example 7" D case, 10 1/2" HOA including bell.
Excellent condition overall, expected minor wear to cases, Seth Thomas with some minor wear to dial, particularly around key-holes, Chelsea example with six-digit number scratched into dial. Each currently in working condition (see Catalogue Guarantee).
