CONFEDERATE STATES CIVIL WAR $100 LOAN BONDS, LOT OF FOUR, each dated March 2, 1863, consecutive serial numbers 3913-3916, each retaining seven coupons. 14 1/2" x 14".
Three in excellent condition with expected folds, two with minor edge roughness, one with stain and area of edge roughness.
Provenance: Property from the estate of William Wayt Gibbs, Staunton, VA._x000D_
Descended from the original owner, Gideon Barnheart (1814-1892), Augusta Co., VA.
Catalogue Note: Gideon Barnheart served in the Third Battalion, Augusta Co., Valley reserves during the Civil War.
