Description
ALADDIN-STYLE CAST METAL MINIATURE FINGER LAMP, brass finish, raised floral and scroll decoration on a scallop foot, Genie face below curled handle and reverse with a figural spout, pale blue swirl optic shade with flared rim, No. 1 brass collar. Fitted with a period Nutmeg burner, colorless chimney. Fourth quarter 19th century. 3 5/8" H to top of collar, 2 3/8" x 2 7/8" foot.
Lamp undamaged and with heavy wear to finish, shade with a loss to top rim resulting in a 1 1/2" crack along with normal fitter roughness. Burner and chimney undamaged, chimney rims with normal roughness, as made.
Literature: Appears to be published in Smith - Miniature Lamps II, p. 43, fig. 20.
Provenance: From the 50-plus year collection of the late Joan M. Wentz, Germansville, PA.
