Description
DESCRIPTION: Decorated Pennsylvania German softwood six board blanket chest in original condition made for Johannes Blecher (1780-1859), who is buried in Witmers Cemetery in Mastersonville, Lancaster County. Form consisting of original hinges and Lebanon Selzer Ranck School designs of arched ovals with central floral motifs coming from small decorative urns. MEASUREMENTS: 52” wide x 23” deep x 21-1/2” high. CONDITION: Chipping and toning to paint consistent with age. Feet with some losses of height due to age.
