Description
An antique and exceptionally well-made American Pennsylvania Dutch six-board painted pine wood blanket chest. It has original beautifully hand-painted folk art decorations on the front and both sides of the panels, featuring an urn full of flowers on the golden field. Signed by Johaness Ranck (1765 - 1828) and dated 1802. Condition: The chest has a built-in lock, but no key. It retains original wrapped iron hinges and dovetailed sides, and comes with interior compartment used as a candle box. Painted panels are in remarkably good condition, while the surface of the chest has some scratches and other age-related wear.This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made.Condition:(Very Good).Dimensions:50" x 23" x 22".
