Description
14th-15th century AD. Group comprising pieces in pewter: a lozenge-shaped clothes hook depicting bosses surrounded by ropework borders with attachment loop to reverse and copper-alloy hook; a circular pilgrim's badge for St George's Chapel, Windsor depicting King Henry VI standing to obverse and lettered '[K]ING' within border to reverse with suspension loop; a lozenge-shaped pilgrim's badge for Westminster Abbey depicting St Peter holding key and sceptre with plain reverse and a single surviving attachment loop. Cf. Read, Brian, Hooked-Clasps & Eyes, 2008, item 219 for similar construction; cf.
