A collection of lectures on the French Revolution. Part of the second series of the Lectures on History collection. William Smyth (1765- 1849) was an English historian, Regius Professor at Cambridge from 1807. The second group is Complete in two volumes is William Smyth "Modern History" published by J. and J. J. Deighton, Cambridge 1843. Smyth's Lectures on Modern History, 1840, 2 vols. , dedicated to Henry Petty, 3rd Marquess of Lansdowne. Leather, gilt, 1 spine loose, some light wear, all pages good. All have library label for a Thomas Newton. PROVENANCE: A Private Charleston SC Estate. Weight on all 7 pds 14 oz.
