Description
Pre-Columbian, Guanajuato Valley, Mexico, Chupicuaro, ca. 300 to 100 BCE. A hand-built, bichrome pottery vessel on a raised foot, with slightly concave walls and a subtly flared rim - all decorated in deep brick red slip and painted with registers of stylized geometrics. A fabulous decorative program probably inspired by textile motifs. Size: 7.125" in diameter x 6" H (18.1 cm x 15.2 cm).
