MID-ATLANTIC, POSSIBLY PENNSYLVANIA, PICTORIAL NEEDLEWORK SAMPLER, silk and wool on linen, featuring large brick building, possibly a schoolhouse, in a landscape, oversized flower baskets, flowering vine border, signed "Eliza Lovett's / Sampler wrought / In the year 1842". Housed under glass in a period frame. Dated 1842. 17 1/2" x 20 1/2" sight, 21 1/2" x 24 1/2" OA.
Toning, fading, staining, and discoloration. Significant losses to wool thread. Frame with wear. Not examined out of frame.
