Bibliotheque des Arts, Paris. 1967. Hardcover in jacket and cardboard slipcase. 10.5"w x 14"h. 271 pages. Color plates tipped on. Text in French. 2) Modern Japanese Art of Flower Arrangements, Vol. V. Painted by Etsujin Kawahara. Hanano-Shiori-Sha, Kohata/Kyoto. 1950. Hardcover. 14"w x 10"h. Text printed on thin, translucent paper, interleaved with color, full-page paintings of floral arrangements. Traditional Japanese binding in light green silk, in original cardboard box. 3) Same title as previous, but box is dated 1952, though title page still says 1950. This copy bound in a darker green cloth, and label on front cover has been corrected from "...Arrangements Flower" to "...Flower Arrangements". 4) Best of Ikebana: 3 hardcovers with jackets and 1 small pamphlet in slipcase, titles are Ohara School by Houn Ohara, Sogetsu School by Sofu Teshigahara, Ikenobo School by Senei Ikenobo, and History of Ikebana by Minobu Ohi. 5) Rachel E. Carr. Hours & Flowers: The Accordian Engagement Calendar of Japanese Flower Arrangements. Charles E. Tuttle, Rutland VT. First edition 1961. Ohashi of Ikebano School. 100 Wood Block Color Illustrations with Text. Second edition. Sole agent Yamanaka & Co., New York. Hardcover. 6.5"w x 9.5"h. 1935. 21 pages of text followed by the color illustrations. In original paper-covered box, cover of box broken at joints and missing bottom panel. Text block detached from cover. 7) Mary Cokely Wood. Flower Arrangement Art of Japan. Tuttle, Vermont. 6th printing, 1959. String-bound softcover, in cloth folding case with traditional fasteners. Black and white illustrations throughout. Fine condition. 8) Mary Averill (Kwashinsai Kiyokumei). Japanese Flower Arrangement [Ike-bana] Applied to Western Needs. Dodd, Mead an Company, New York. 1933. With 88 illustrations. Hardcover in jacket. 6.25"w x 8.75"h. 218 pages with black and white line drawings. Signed by the author on the half-title page and gift inscription to Huguette [Clark] signed "Mother". Very good condition but in poor jacket with tears and chips missing. 9) Kasumi Teshigawara. L'Art du Bouquet au Japon. Office du Livre / Kodansha. Fribourg/Tokyo. 1965. Hardcover. 8.25"w x 7.75"h. 128 pages, color photos. In original cardboard slipcase with printed wrapper. Fine condition in fair slipcase. Text in French. 10) Kasumi Teshigawara. Space and Color in Japanese Flower Arrangement. Kodansha, Tokyo. First edition, 1965. Hardcover in jacket. 8.25"w x 7.75"h. 128 pages, color photos. In original cardboard slipcase. Fine condition in good slipcase.

Notes/Literature: Huguette Marcelle Clark (1906-2011) was an heiress and philanthropist, who became well known again late in life as a recluse, living in a hospital for more than 20 years while her mansions remained empty. She was an accomplished artist and musician, having studied under famous portrait painter Tadeusz Styka, and her paintings were exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery, Washington in 1925
