The Gibson Book, Volume II, includes 5 of the 11 "Gibson Girl" illustration books including A Widow and Her Friends, The Social Ladder, The Weaker Sex: A Story of a Susceptible Bachelor, Everyday People, and Our Neighbors. Red hardbound cover, gilt engraved lettering within ornamental wreath on front cover, published by Charles Scribner's Sons and R.H. Russell, 1906, each illustration copyrighted 1900 - 1905 by Life Publishing or Collier's Weekly or Charles Scribner's Sons. Cover dimensions: 17" x 11 1/2". Unpaginated, +/- 300 pp, one illustration/page, all pages gilt edged, all b&w prints of Gibson's pen-and-ink drawings, title page torn away from binding, rest of pages intact, cover pulling away at spine, slight browning, no pages torn. Note: Charles Dana Gibson (1867 - 1944) was a famous American illustrator best known for his pen-and-ink "Gibson Girl" sketches inspired by his wife and four sisters.
