Description
New World, probably Mexico, Spanish Colonial period, ca. 18th century CE. A matched pair of hand-carved, dark wood stirrups with inlaid iron painted with pretty, ornate decorative motifs. The front ends of the stirrups are also decorated with deeply incised, carved motifs that are abstractly floral. Size of one (they are similar in size): 6.25" W x 7" H (15.9 cm x 17.8 cm)
