A Maya Polychrome Bowl
c. 600 - 800 AD
Straight-sided bowl raised on a shallow circular pedestal, painted with three seated lords holding up an object (possible a drinking vessel) before them, each with an elaborate coiffure or headdress with paper plume behind, a large urn between, a glyph above each urn. In good condition, small hole on bottom, some paint loss and fading, but the orange color is remarkable clear and fresh.
