FIRST WORLD WAR / WWI MILITARY AND RELATED VOLUMES, LOT OF 12, including J.H. Boraston, ed., "Sir Douglas Haig's Despatches (December 1915-April 1919)", 1919, J.M. Dent & Sons, with ten original maps in slip-case; Barnett W. Harris, "33rd Division Across No-Man's Land", 1919, R.R. Donnelley & Sons; and "The Attack of the British 9th Corps at Messines Ridge", 1917, Army War College, War Department Document No. 653, Government Printing Office, but lacking accompanying maps; and Brigadier General Vincent J. Esposito, ed., "The West Point Atlas of American Wars", two-volume set, 1964, Frederick A. Praeger, third printing. Hardcover, and soft cover. Together with a duplicate set of ten "Sir Douglas Haig's Despatches" maps in slip-case. Thirteen (13) pieces total.
"West Point Atlas" examples excellent, remainder in good condition overall, with expected moderate wear commensurate with age, expected toning and some staining, primarily to covers or endpapers, "Sir Douglas Haig's Despatches" example with some minor losses and separation to board interior binding, maps mostly very good to excellent, the first complete set with some toning to map backs, heaviest to no. 1 and no. 10, and each with some minimal to minor discoloration to front along one exposed fold line (duplicate maps generally in lesser condition), two undescribed examples with separation to interior binding, primarily to cover boards.

Catalogue Note: Ivor Noel Hume (1927-2017), O.B.E. (Order of the British Empire), F.S.A. (Fellow, Society of Antiquaries), was a distinguished scholar, author, and former director of the Department of Archaeological Research at Colonial Williamsburg.
