ARCHAEOLOGY / HISTORY TOBACCO PIPE VOLUMES, LOT OF FIVE, comprising "The Archaeology of the Clay Tobacco Pipe", volumes one through three, 1979-1980, edited by Peter Davey as a part of the British Archaeological Reports (BAR) British Series; Adrian Oswald "Clay Pipes for the Archaeologist",1975, printed hardbound facsimile as a part of the British Archaeological Reports (BAR), and RG Jackson and RH Price, "Bristol Clay Pipes: a Study of Makers and their Marks", 1974, hardbound, printed by the Bristol City Museum. Hard and soft covers.
Very good condition overall, some expected wear to edges and corners particularly to soft covers, interiors generally very clean.
Provenance: From the research library of Ivor Noel Hume, O.B.E., F.S.A., Williamsburg, VA.
Catalogue Note: Ivor Noel Hume (1927-2017), O.B.E. (Order of the British Empire), F.S.A. (Fellow, Society of Antiquaries), was a distinguished scholar, author, and former director of the Department of Archaeological Research at Colonial Williamsburg.
