Program, from the opening of "The House that Ruth Built", Yankee Stadium, dated April 18-19, 1923 as the New York Yankees took on the Boston Red Sox. The orange program showcases an image of both Col. Jacob Ruppert (President of the Yankees) and Col. T.L Huston (Vice President and Treasurer of the New York Yankees). Considerable wear and tear, but a fine example of a truly rare piece of baseball history. 9.25" x 11."

On April 18, 1923, Babe Ruth christened his House with the Bronx baseball palace's first long ball, and a four-to-one victory over his former club, the Boston Red Sox. "Some ball yard," he told reporters asking for a post-game commentary. While the reproductions of this coveted publication--issued at the time of the 1976 Stadium reopening--are fairly commonly encountered, only a few have survived from the original 1923 Grand Opening of "The House that Ruth Built."

This very example sold for $2,629 in Heritage Auctions in 2016, pre-covid and in a lesser market.
