ENGLISH HISTORICAL DICTIONARY VOLUMES, LOT OF TWO, Nathan Bailey, "An Universal Etymological English Dictionary", 1749, printed for R. Ware, et al, London, stated thirteenth edition, rebound with leather boards, ribbed spine with leather label and gilt lettering, retains original leather boards adhered to pastedowns; and ibid, 1737, printed for Thomas Cox, London, being Volume II of stated third edition, rebound with leather boards, ribbed spine with leather labels and gilt lettering, marbled endpapers.
Good condition overall, expected minor wear and scuffs to boards, corners slightly bumped, interiors very legible, but with expected toning, 1749 example with minor foxing scattered throughout, a some pages of the introduction detached at binding, one page with minor losses and a crude tape-repair to tear, and some beginnings of separation at spine/binding.
