Item Details

Description

A Very rare Fon Asen altar in iron, Field collected in early 1990's by Steve Tobin. Approx 36 inches tall with Iron disk on iron rod supported by radiating umbrella style rods. The Top of the altar/staff has several fascinating figures, including a figure with calabash, a hand holding a staff with tortoise and serpent attributes, and several plant and geometric forms.

Condition

Well weathered, decayed, fragile condition.
