No. 406 of 750 copies, signed by the publisher.
Spectacular series of pochoir plates capturing the work of the "Kiowa Five", who became internationally known artists in the 1920's. Steeped in the tradition of the ledger-book drawings that recorded the clash of Native American and white cultures, they five received more formal training at the St. Patrick's Mission School in Anadarko, and at the University of Oklahoma
Condition
Covers rubbed, paper flap of the portfolio splitting at seams; the glassine interleaves, with are perhaps later, have some chipping and wear; some darkening to the plates with minor edge chipping to some; overall very good, plates bright and striking.
