Pre-Columbian Greater Nicoya pottery vessel with protruding jaguar head, Costa Rica, circa 800-1200 CE, natural pigment-decorated with madder red and black, the dun-colored gourd-shaped body and flaring baluster foot with stylized geometric motifs. 13.5" H x 8.75" W. Age- and use-related wear; repair to foot.
