Description
Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Sumatra, ca. early 20th century CE. A charming steel carving knife with a long, dark wood handle capped by a figure with a very tall, crest-like headdress. A sharp iron blade with abstract human faces carved in profile at its base and the end of the blade gives the piece a visually-pleasing symmetrical form. Size: 0.65" W x 18.25" H (1.7 cm x 46.4 cm)
