Description
Rookwood loving cup has portrait of a Native American Chief in a buffalo headdress against a dark brown shading to dark green background. The loving cup is impressed on the bottom with the Rookwood flame mark indicating the piece was made in 1900. Also inscribed on the underside is the artist initials "A.D.S" for Adeliza Drake Schon who worked at Rookwood from 1898-1902. It is also marked on the underside with the chief's name, however we are unable to make it out. It also states he was a Assinaboine. There is light crazing in the glaze, otherwise very good. Condition: Dimensions:6 -1/4" x 8".
