Item Details
Description
**Originally Listed At $300**

Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, La Tolita (sometimes Tumaco) culture, ca. 350 BCE to 350 CE. A pretty ceramic dish, standing on five bulbous feet that were once rattles. The interior of the dish is divided into two parts: one red, with a complex and abstract inscribed sun-form that covers roughly one third of the surface, and one white, with an inscribed squirrel-like animal crouched on the other, covering roughly two-thirds of surface. The asymmetry gives the piece a whimsical sensibility. Size: 4.5" W x 2" H (11.4 cm x 5.1 cm)

Provenance: private New York, New York, USA collection
