Iron, gold foil inlay. Japan, Edo period, 18th/19th century
Maru Gata, a circular iron tsuba carved in high and low relief showing a flying bird above stalks of leafy bamboo, the surface with traces of gold nunomezogan highlights. A hitsu filled with rich black shakudo. Unsigned.
Condition: Faded in general, some surface corrosion - age-related condition
