Dec 17, 1796. The document concerns a Revolutionary War Soldier buying a plantation in South Carolina. Henry Durant (1755-1805) pays 90 pounds to John and Rebecca Livingston for 250 acre Plantation on Lynch's Creek in Salem Co., South Carolina. Durant served in the American Revolution under General Francis Marion and helped defend South Carolina from invasion of British Troops. A historical marker is located on Hwy 341 in Lee Co marking the location of his former home. H12" W14 1/2"
