Provenance: Ex-collection Reginald Steengracht van Moyland, Cannes. Acquired from the latter by the former owner's family in the early 1970s. Now the property of a prominent French collector.

Reginald "Reggie" van Moyland was a long time personal friend of the former owner's father. Reginald's father, Baron Henry Steengracht van Moyland (1869-1932), was an avid art collector, a passion he handed down to Reggie at an early age. Reginald's keen interest in art and antiques continued until his death in 1992.
