Pre-Columbian, Peru, Chancay culture, ca. 1200 to 1400 CE. A textile panel, woven from camelid fibers, that was probably once part of the wrappings around a mummy. It has a repeated abstract motif in red and yellow. Comes in custom frame. Size: 7.05" W x 2.3" H (17.9 cm x 5.8 cm); size of frame: 2.6" L x 10" W x 6" H (6.6 cm x 25.4 cm x 15.2 cm)
Provenance: private Clemente Revilla collection, Peru, acquired before 1944
