Description
Europe, Neoclassical period, ca. mid 18th to early 19th century CE. Three carved cameos, two set within bronze brooches, the larger of which is gilded. Each depicts a woman in profile, each with a Classically-inspired hairstyle. Two are made of shell set against hardstone; the third is solid hardstone. During the Neo-Classical period, European artists revived the ancient Greek and Roman cameo-carving style, with the French being particularly skilled at making them. Size of largest: 1.3" W x 1.55" H (3.3 cm x 3.9 cm)

Condition
Patina on surface of each from age and handling. Both brooch pins are bent, but functional - though they are fragile and could use professional attention to make them wearable.
