This Antique Central Telephone Co St. Louis World Fair Exhibit Oak Double Box Wall Mount Telephone is in Very Good condition. It is all original no new or reconditioned parts. This is a working five-magnet magneto, the chrome has been polished to show the original stampings of the Central Telephone and Electric Co. World’s Fair Transmission on mouth piece. This phone's has a oak note-pad shelf and the original cloth wiring throughout. Battery Box is original where as many have to be restored or replaced. It is completely unrestored with the exception of the bells and plate being painted. No aftermarket parts!! This phone measures 29" high, 12 “wide, including crank and earpiece, and 11 ¼ " deep, including mouthpiece (which moves up and down) and bells. It weighs 26 pounds. Because of the size and weight of this phone I will not ship overseas. Will ship to Canada, but it will be fairly expensive. This phone company was part of the exhibit at the 1904 World’s Fair in St Louis. Also known as (The Louisiana Purchase Exposition, informally known as the St. Louis World's Fair, was an international exposition held in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, from April 30 to December 1, 1904. Local, state, and federal funds totaling $15 million were used to finance the event. More than 60 countries and 43 of the 45 American states maintained exhibition spaces at the fair, which was attended by nearly 19.7 million people.) The company is listed in the November 1904 Telephone Magazine as a participant at the fair. This is the only one I have seen with the decorative carving on the wood. It is missing the wood handle for the crank.
