Jared Ingersoll (1749-1822) Founding Father. Ingersoll was a delegate to the Continental Congress and a signer of the United States Constitution. He served as DeWitt Clinton's running mate in the 1812 election, but Clinton and Ingersoll were defeated by James Madison and Elbridge Gerry. 7 ½” x 12” autograph letter signed, Philadelphia, January 7, 1792, to Thomas Rodney. “…In the year 1783, the Brig Morson and Cargo were condemned by you as prize to the ship Benette…You have certified that the neat amount of sales was 6924.0.9 ¾. …I most earnestly entreat that you be so good as to examine whether a mistake has been made….”
