Collection of thirty three original historic World War II United States Army Signal Corps Naval photographs.
Photographs of warships and soldiers in Europe including the USS MONTEREY (magic carpet in Naples transporting soldiers back to Norwalk).
Collection of Lucifer Guarnier (American,1914-2007) Member of the the Army Signal Corps Animation Division.
Many of these photographs were published and used in publications and documentary films.
27 black and white photographs.
Dimension: 10"x 8.25".
Condition: good original estate condition.
Provenance: private estate.
Included: Photographs of the Signal Corps crew as they film for the Army Pictorial Service to produce films for the training, indoctrination and entertainment of the American forces and their Allies. General George C. Marshall ordered the creation of The Army Pictorial Service in 1942-Army Signal Corps.
*Photographed and stored in a plastic sleeve.
Lucifer (Lu) Guarnier was associated with the Golden Age of Hollywood Cartoons. He animated cartoons, films and directed TV shows.These photographs were taken during his time when he served with the Army Signal Corps Animation Division for documentary films and publications
