Description
Ancient Near East, Mesopotamia, ca. late 2nd to 1st millennium BCE. A fine example of an ungulate bone cylinder seal, ovoid in shape. Incised into the face is a figure of a goddess flanked by two short animals. Pierced vertically for suspension. Comes displayed with a modern pressing of the seal on clay. Size: 0.55" W x 0.9" H (1.4 cm x 2.3 cm); 1.25" H (3.2 cm) on included custom stand.
