Large painting, impressive in its quality, the married couple depicted sitting close to one another on a throne. Both in opulent robes, very exacting in all details and multicolored and with gold. The man is a very high, noble civil servant of the Manju imperial government, as one can see by the large, golden, five-clawed dragon on his chest as well as on his skirt, in the case of the latter, with flaming, magic pearls. Above the dragon is a whole row of characters, or rather stylized versions of the character shou, meaning "long life". In addition, he is wearing the appropriate hat as well as a large pearl chain around his neck. His wife's clothing is more decorated, her hat with decorative chains is especially elaborate. On her chest is a bat and the wing of a crane - symbols for good fortune and longevity. Both faces are very fine-ly drawn and radiant. On the whole, a great amount of floral decoration, the borders partially with leiwen meander and frequently gilded. In the upper-right area are two red seals, slightly worn, another one on the right-hand decorative ribbon hanging in the uppermost field. Averagely good to, in part, very good condition.

Every piece he acquired was intensively examined for its authenticity, including with the collaboration of Chinese and German experts. Professionally, Mr. Keuper was active as a dealer of antique Chinese art, always made his acquisitions with great care and thus, in all the years, never had a complaint about the identification of an object. He had a comprehensive collection of over 300 specialized books by renowned authors about Chinese antiques (which could also be offered for sale as a whole). This private collection is now being sold due to reasons of age.
