A pair of medium Imperial polychrome jardinieres, once the property of the late Dowager Empress Cixi. The pots each have an extended rim with a blue key-fret diaper in the center on white ground. The bodies feature garden scenes with3 brown & white birds on branches and peonies & chrysanthemums sprouting from stems. The pots are supported by plain feet.
Rouge de fer Reign mark of Cixi, Dowager Empress under the rim. They were made in the Kiln of Grand Culture.

PROVENANCE: From The Collections of Mrs. Alice Marie Hazell, Reached the wonderful age of 81 being born in 1935-2017.
She was the spouse of the late victor Hazell together they had traveled the world together they enjoyed visiting museums and later became employed by several smaller museums, Victor Hazell was placed in charge of procuring many of the items for the various museums, while his specialties were bronzes he developed a passion for jade and porcelain items. In the early stages in his career he found that he could find items of great value that the museums had no room for or had similar items in their inventory.
Having the resources to date and value the items he found became a real serendipity for him, it started out as a few collectables to a full-scale collection.
With the sale of these collectibles it is hoped for that another private collector will add these treasures to their portfolio and treasure them as much as Victor did.
