Pair of George II Sterling Silver Salt Cellars
hallmarked London, 1757-1758, by David Hennell I (1712-1785; free 1735), circular cauldron form with wavy gadrooned rim and later floral repousse decoration, raised on three shell-crested scroll-and-stepped-pad feet, the interiors gilt.
h. 1-1/2", dia. 2-1/2"; 2.98 total t. oz.

Condition
**In fair condition with many signs of age. Numerous dents and depressions, including compression rings on the body around all of the feet. Much wear to the relief and engraving. Some fading to the gilding, which is probably a Victorian addition. Marks well-rubbed and barely legible.
