Pair of French First Empire Silver and Glass Salt Cellars
1798-1809, by Marc-Samson Jacquart (1772-1829), Paris, first standard (.950) silver, each with a gadrooned oval frame raised on four swan's neck-crested square column legs terminating in cloven hoof feet and joined by a lozenge-form stretcher with addorsed scroll and bellflower decoration, fitted with a conforming cobalt glass liner.
h. 2-7/8", l. 4-1/2", w. 3-5/8"; 6.88 total t. oz. (excluding liners)

Condition
**In generaly very good condition with no breaks, dents or repairs. One salt sits with one foot about 1/16" off the ground. Marks somewhat worn. Liners good with no cracks or chips noted; one or two "flea bites". A very attractive pair.
