Description
An American sterling silver condiment set, retailed by Cartier, comprising a pair of pedestal open salts, with blue glass liners and shell bowl spoons, and a pair of baluster shape pepper pots, all with gadroon rim detail and engraved initials. Maker's mark for Redlich & Company (New York circa 1895-1946), and further marked Cartier, also numbered 2952 (peppers) and 2953 (salts). Weight excluding liners 8ozt (249.5g). Sold with original Cartier cloth bag for each piece.
Condition Report:- All pieces appear in fairly good overall condition.
- Displaying some general light surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing.
- Both salts with slight impressions from foot visible to interior base; one salt with slight knock to foot rim; the other with a couple of very slight dints to main body.
- One glass liner damaged and repaired.
- One spoon with repairs at base of stem.
- Maker's marks all clear and legible; spoons marked Sterling Cartier only.
- General wear to the cloth bags with some stains and dirty marks, but remaining intact overall.
- Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
