Lix. bookplate of Narian Sperling on front endpaper with bookseller's label; Kauffmann: Nos Petits Alsaciens Chez Eux, Garnier Freres, Paris, no date but circa 1918, hardcover, 9 1/2 x 12 1/2 inches, 80 pages with full-page illustrations, some in full color some in two color; Je Sais Lire Lectures et Scenes Enfantines par un Papa, Garnier Freres, Paris, no date but circa 1910, hardcover, 9 x 12 inches, 48 pages on stiff paper with color illustrations throughout. Gift inscriptin on first page dated 1910.

Notes/Literature: Huguette Marcelle Clark (1906-2011) was an heiress and philanthropist, who became well known again late in life as a recluse, living in a hospital for more than 20 years while her mansions remained empty. She was an accomplished artist and musician, having studied under famous portrait painter Tadeusz Styka, and her paintings were exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery, Washington in 1925
