East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 1850 CE. A beautiful dark red lacquered shallow wooden bowl with a smooth wood grain visible on its exterior and an ornate motif of a seated mythological figure atop a giant lotus flower in the center of the interior. Size: 10" W x 1.75" H (25.4 cm x 4.4 cm)

Light surface wear with some areas of encrustation. A few tiny losses to the lacquer around the interior rim. Nicely preserved artwork with very clear details.
