after PIERRE AUGUSTE RENOIR (French 1841-1919) A DRYPOINT ETCHING, AFTER 1894, "Le Chapeau Epingle (The Hat Secured with a Pin)," a posthumous printing, likely from the third plate, second state series, ink on cream laid paper, signed in plate, paper 12 1/4" x 10 1/8"; image 4 5/8" x 3 1/4".
Condition
Sun exposure, a yellow tone on exposed paper. Some wash applied in the background areas. Two straight edges on paper and two deckle edges. One clear tape repair in top right corner of paper. The valleys of the plate marks with a yellowing in the lower right corner. Some mild wave to the paper. Overall in good to very good condition, wear commensurate with age.
