Item Details
Description
**First Time At Auction**

Pre-Columbian, Ecuador, Jamacoaque (Jama Coaque) culture, ca. 500 CE. A mold made terracotta figure of a standing lord with incredible details and nice remaining pigment. The lord is depicted in densely-decorated clothing that appears to be woven, with a belt at the waist studded with round discs. The headress is fantastical, wrapping all the way around the head and under the chin. A triangular attachment that almost dwarfs the figure is attached behind it. Size: 3.25" W x 5" H (8.3 cm x 12.7 cm)

Provenance: ex private Hambrick collection, Chicago, Illinois, USA
