Ancient Near East, Syro-Hittite, ca. 2000 to 1500 BCE. A ceramic tripod firing stand (or kiln spur) used for separating and protecting individual pottery items during the firing process. The extended arms have a small nub on each end, and finished Syro-Hittite vessels often have the three imprinted marks on their bases. Size: 3.125" H (7.9 cm).
