Description

SKULL N ROSES (RUBAIYAT OF OMAT KHAYYAM) BY STANLEY MOUSE & ALTON KELLEY. Here is one of the most famous posters from the Family Dog series, as well as one of the most recognized images ever used by the Grateful Dead. The central image is a drawing done by Edward Joseph Sullivan, a late 19th and early 20th century artist. Sullivan created this drawing to illustrate one of the quatrains of the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. Mouse and Kelley added the color. The Skull and Roses became a symbol of the dead for years to come. 14- 1/4 x 20 inches. Pinholes in corners. See images.
