American, late 19th century. A Shepard "Mason Bank" cast iron mechanical bank, marked with name on front and EXCELSIOR SERIES / PAT'D FEBY. 8, 1887 on underside. Place coin in the hod, press lever, and builder moves hod forward to deposit coin while other moves his arms; ht. 7, wd. 7.25, dp. 4 in.

Condition

Spots of paint loss, especially to builders, and back of top wall has been repainted. Could use a cleaning.
